oktobermessed 2010

I just want to let everyone know, from both Alex and I...we are alive! I meant to write a huge blog post about Berlin this morning on the train to Munich, but we slept for most of it and caught up on Modern Family and Glee for the rest, so who can really fault us? When we got to Munich, we checked into our hostel/tent and went to Oktoberfest. We just wanted to see what it looked liked but we ended up spending all afternoon there (and, surprisingly, getting into a few beer tents, as well as riding the scariest amusement park rides EVER) and now we're back at the hostel. We're about to go to sleep. "Santeria" by Sublime is playing for its 6th time in the internet room, which means it is definitely time to go to bed...no on else seems to be weirded out by this. But, yes, we are fine and dandy in here in Munich. More posted when we get a chance!

Love and lager, Eliza

You guys are doing an awful lot of sleeping! Can't wait to hear about Octoberfest! Thanks for doing the blog, Eliza!

eliza, i think the sleeping part may be due to excessive partying and the need to sleep it off. now compare that with your dad's backpack thru europe where he traveled with a church group, sang in choirs and saved little homeless kittens. Or so he said. Tell alex the stinkier she gets the less likely you two will be picked off the street so I like your plan. However, you really may need to check in somewhere for a pre-mom visit scrub because my large french nose is already wrinkling in digust. Spent first nite here at Peninsula awake 1/2 the nite with insomnia so so much for the luxury lifestyle. The tub, however, was amazing. Very bitter about how hard I am working but with Neiman and Saks right across the street, I feel a dirty martini and a little shopping therapy may fix the abuse factor. Hopefully dad not reading this. Leslie and i looking for a camel coat, hopefully not the same one. However with all the gloomy news we are heating about the shaky state of the US economy, we may have to consider sharing that coat. What are pp saying about the state of the world economy where you are traveling? Or are they too liquored up to have an opinion>
